Rockridge and Farmington tipped off the 72nd edition of the Macomb-Western Holiday Tournament Thursday morning with the Rockets (1-9) looking to extend their unbeaten streak to 6-0 all-time in opening round games. But the unbeaten and second seeded Farmers (11-0) put those plans in serious jeopardy as they ran off 15 consecutive points to close the first quarter ahead 19-4.

Farmington eventually piled on eight more to begin the second period with a 27-4 advantage before a Cody Bush trey ended the run at 23 straight points. The Rockets rallied with a 6-0 run to end the half with a 29-13 deficit.

Unfortunately for Rockridge, the Farmington defense never wavered. The Rockets were held to 25 percent shooting and 12 points after halftime. The two teams combined for just one three-pointer in 11 attempts in the second half.

Jarod DePriest and Jakob Uryasz led Farmington with 11 points and Nick Johnson added 10. DePriest dished out six assists as well. Riley Fetterer led Rockridge with eight points, while Cody Bush had seven points and six boards. The Rockets were a perfect 8-for-8 at the line, but only 1-for-11 from behind the arc.

Farmington will take on the winner between A-Town and Eureka in the quarterfinals Friday evening at 5:00 pm. Rockridge will match up with the loser of that game at 9:00 am.
