Longtime conference rivals Farmington and Monmouth-Roseville met in game 19 in the early game at Western Hall on Day 3.  Both teams were still reeling from quarterfinal upset losses to Abingdon-Avon and Camp Point Central.

Farmington held a 30-25 lead going into halftime and the Titans couldn’t cut into the lead enough before the final buzzer.  The Titans’ transition defense was solid and led to seveal steals and fast break layups, especially from junior guard Jamonny Skinner.

The game was aggressive as many players got into foul trouble late.  As with many close, aggressive games, free throws became the deciding factor.  With a minute left in regulation, the Titans pulled within 3, but couldn’t get any closer as clutch free throws by Farmington’s Jarod DePriest sealed the win.

Farmington will take on the winner of Macomb and Brown County in the 5th place game at 6:30 pm Saturday.
