Illini Bluffs was on a mission tonight.  They came out early and often and excelled in every facet of the game to take the third-place trophy over Camp Point Central by a score of 75-48.

The Tigers were led by a trio of double-digit scorers.  Brock Power-Preece had 18 points, Drew Davis chipped in 16 points, and Cam Scott added 11.  Braden Cox had a team high 8 rebounds.  Bluffs initiated a running clock early in the fourth quarter.

Camp Point Central was anchored by Lane Ippensen’s all-around game of 13 points, six rebounds, four assists, and two blocks.  Hayden Neisen added a game high 10 rebounds to go along with his five points.  Bryce Long added in eight points as well.

Bluffs last secured a trophy in the Macomb Western Holiday Tournament just last year as they took home the fifth-place trophy with a convincing 80-48 win over Illini West.  Those two finishes marked their best in their tournament history.

This is Central’s fifth stint in the Macomb Western Holiday Tournament since the tournament expanded to 16 teams.  They have participated from 1969-73, 1975-85, 1989-94, 1999-2004, and 2010 to present.  This year’s fourth-place finish is the best in their history.
