2024 Game 6 Recap: Macomb 46, Canton 32

Macomb entered the night as the #4 seed in the 2024 Macomb-Western Holiday Tournament…and the Canton Little Giants gave them all they could handle.  The Bombers pulled away in the final period to take a 46-32 win and advance to the quarterfinals.  This game featured eight lead changes, three ties, and scoring runs of 10 and 8 (by Macomb and Canton, respectively).  One of the first round’s closest games looked like a larger margin than it otherwise appeared through most of the contest.

Macomb’s leading scorer was Braden Holthaus with 16 points, including three field goals from beyond the three-point arc.  Drew Watson added 12 points, and Nolan Hoge and Malachi Conley each contributed eight points.  Hoge led both teams with 13 rebounds and Conley had a game-high four assists.

Canton was led in scoring by Miles Hoops with 11 points.  Lakon Otto pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds.  Canton won the battle in the paint by a count of 20-18.

Macomb (9-2) advances to face the Golden Eagles of Mercer County, Friday evening in Game 15 at 7:00pm.  Canton continues in the consolation bracket, where they will play the Saukees of Pittsfield in Friday’s Noon Game 11.
